I am passionate about this work. The seedlings of my business began prior to 2009, before I knew there was such a thing as health and well-being coaching. Previous to that year, I had spent most of my adult life working in small, dynamic start-up environments, thriving on chaos and variety. It was exciting and challenging.
And then cancer happened. First to my father. Then to me. While still putting pieces back together after my father's death, I found myself in major surgery for a rare Stage 4 cancer with an uncertain prognosis. With so much upended, it was only a matter of time before other areas of my life became exposed and vulnerable. I felt an additional discomfort as I realized I had been living in auto-pilot mode for years. The path I knew... the one I assumed held safety and security, was crumbling and the fear of finding a new path was overwhelming.
I struggled for years to regain my footing. It set me on a path toward wanting to help others advocate for their well-being. My journey started with healing physically from cancer surgery, but expanded to re-engaging and empowering my emotions, my spirit, my mental fortitude, and so much more. I eventually discovered ways to thrive with simple tools and resources that resonated with my unique needs to keep me balanced and healthy for everyday frustrations as well as bigger hurdles. As I cultivated these tools, I found ways to naturally live with less stress and more ease.
When my cancer returned in 2016, my relationship with it was completely different. I received the news with a calm and empowered mindset that put me in control of the surgery and recovery ahead of me and allowed me to make intentional choices rather than react with fear. It set me up for an entirely different experience from my first surgery that positively impacted me as well as those around me.
My hope is to help others discover their own best tools to proactively empower their everyday well-being to live with more ease and balance.
